Little is known about the range and determinants of people’s emotional responses to climate change. There is a gap in knowledge about the effects of emotions related to climate breakdown on mental health, as well as on the effectiveness of climate change communication and climate action taking.
This project will combine insights from clinical and environmental psychology as well as neuroscience to systematically and comprehensively research emotions related to climate change using a variety of approaches, including questionnaires, and behavioural and neuroimaging experiments.
