Announcing Our Database for Climate Change Neuroscience: CLIMATE BRAIN

We’re thrilled to announce that our team has just published a preprint on BioRxiv! Our manuscript, titled CLIMATE BRAIN, presents a unique dataset that bridges neuroscience and climate change research. The paper has already been submitted to a peer-reviewed journal, so we are eagerly awaiting feedback. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

What is CLIMATE BRAIN?
This dataset includes neuroimaging, behavioral, and questionnaire data collected from 160 participants, all focused on how individuals emotionally and cognitively respond to climate change. The data spans three key components:

  • The Inventory of Climate Emotions (ICE), which measures emotional reactions.
  • A task measuring responses to Emotional Climate Change Stories (ECCS) using fMRI.
  • A Carbon Emission Task (CET) to gauge action-taking behavior in the context of climate change.

This dataset is the first of its kind, providing valuable insights for future research into how the brain responds to the climate crisis.
